Good business
Arab Health was bigger than ever this year
as thousands of exhibitors descended on Dubai in an effort to grab a piece of
this very lucrative pie – the burgeoning medical industry in the Middle East.
Middle East Health spoke to many of the major players in the industry and
several of the smaller ones. The overall sentiment was very positive – they were
all doing good business. This is not surprising considering that the industry is
forecast to continue expanding at a whopping 16% year on year. There were many
new products launched in the region and several key announcements by the majors.
We bring you the highlights in the Arab Health review (page 40).
In the anaesthesia feature we publish a
study on the effects of epidural lidocaine analgesia on labour and delivery.
Some 400,000 men worldwide are diagnosed with
prostate cancer every year. Robotic-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy is the
most advanced treatment available. We speak to a leading practitioner of
robotic-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy about the delicate procedure.
As usual you will find many other interesting
features covering issues such as avian flu, AIDS, female sexual dysfunction and
ultrasound, as well as the regular news and product news round up.
